How do the Prana Ventilation Systems Work?
Ventilation with heat recovery is an advanced mechanical system, designed to minimise heat loss while effectively ventilating a room.
These systems are commonly referred to as MVHR, decentralised MVHR (Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery) units, and you may also come across the term HRV (Heat Recovery Ventilation), which essentially refers to the same thing. MVHR units operate by extracting stale air from within the building and passing it through filters. At the same time, they capture the thermal energy from the extracted air instead of releasing it outside, and transfer it to the filtered incoming air.
The key components of MVHR units include a heat recovery cell responsible for extracting indoor heat and supplying it to the fresh air entering the building, fans that draw in and expel air, and filters that effectively remove dust and particles from the outside air.

We have just completed our new self build. A single storey, oak frame, barn style home with high vaulted ceilings. Because the structure is so well insulated and air tight we needed an MVRH system to ventilate the property. However, because we are single storey will no loft space for ducting we were unable to install a traditional system and needed to find a decentralised option. We did a lot of research and found that the Prana system was exactly what we needed. Before it was installed our building was dripping in condensation due to the cold weather earlier this year, the fact our structure is so air tight and the fact the plastering had just been completed. Within days of the Prana system being installed the humidity levels had dropped from 90%+ to 60% and under. We have now been living in the property for the past 4 months and the Prana units provide a fresh balanced air quality with a low energy running cost. We highly recommend the Prana system and Slav and his team were highly professional and easy to communicate with throughout the entire process.

We’ve installed one in our new eco-extension and would highly recommend. It is quiet, works well in automatic mode and the service from the company is absolutely excellent.
It’s a really high quality and well engineered product.
We also have some basic Ventaxia continuous flow MVHRs which are absolutely bare-minimum basic - noisy, cheap and nasty plastic - the Prana is in a different class.

What a fantastic product and service!! We needed to bring in additional fresh air into parts of a facility that did not have the space for ducting. The Installation of 30 decentralised MVHR systems Prana 210C ERP PRO - Did the trick !! The units work along side our existing internal AC Units to provide plenty of clean fresh air significantly improving the Air Quality in the area. Plus with the heat exchange it means we are able to maintain the temperatures required. The fitting was carried out in a safe and efficient manner and the after care and servicing has also been excellent.

Slav and his team installed the Prana recuperator units in five flats for me in January 2023. These flats were suffering from problems with condensation and mould. The problems have now gone away and the feedback from tenants is very positive. If you are a responsible landlord looking to solve a similar issue, then I can't recommend the product highly enough. Excellent service by this company with a great product. They put 4 of the devices into our house a few weeks ago and they have been great, no problems. Both before and since having them, the company is easy to contact and gets back to you very quickly, no question is too silly to ask them.
Highly recommended for allowing fresh air into your house without the loss of heat, very positive effects for moisture/damp/mould control, saving money on heating too (as most of the potentially lost heat is recovered) and lowering carbon dioxide levels in the house which rise fast if a house is sealed up to minimise heat loss.

Much simpler installation than a full house MVHR system (all done in one day) with barely any mess, and much quieter too as it runs (not noticeable to be honest). If there were any issues, they would be easy and quick to identify and fix, and surely cheaper, compared with a full house MVHR system.
They are easily controlled with remote controls or an App, which also allows you to assess various values over time.

This is an excellent system for anyone looking for decent ventilation with heat exchange. If you're wanting to increase your insulation, it should stop any possible damp that might result.
